Cartagena beautiful Cartagena! The solong awaited city. After a few adventurous days in the nature I was happy to visit a city with all the history it has to offer.
I spent 3 days In Cartagena wandering a lot through its beautiful streets full of charming colonial colourful buildings, and at night full of charm with its lit-streets full of life and live artist giving life to the old city.
The downside of the visit was the intense heat and humidity limitating the hours spent outside to enjoy the city, yet it hasn't taken away any charm to this seaside town.
It is hard for me to express my experience and feelings of cartagena so I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves. I know many people don't like Cartagena due to the heat and intense touristic activity. But if you manage to get beyond it and especially interect with the locals, I believe one can only fall under its charm!

Transportation: a 5 hours bus ride from Santa Marta - 26'000 COP (8€)
Accommodation: MamaWaldy hostel perfectly located close to the Plaza de la Trinidad, always active at night with food stands and animations on the weekend - 40'000 COP (12€) for a dorm - otherwise 100 000 CLP (33€) for a private room
F&B: I mostly ate street food, such as at Plaza de la Trinidad mentionned above. Yet in the old city and around there's plenty of restaurant. Crêpes and Waffles is a good choice for Frenchies missing a bit of their food culture! :)
Activities: i didn't do any of those but there are plenty of activites to do around cartagena, especially arond beaches, islands and boat tours towards Panama.
