Although not expected to be, Trinidad was the last step of my trip. For two main reasons: a twisted ankle, but also a place like no other, where I felts like home at my casa particular, where I met friends, and enjoyed living the local life for a few days.
I will always remember Trinidad as a city full of life where people live of food rations, music, joie of life, salsa and hangning out to spend time. But also a convenient city, easily and quick to get accross, full of colours and good vibe. Although not much touristically to do in town (yet historically rich) apart from museums, casa de la music/trova and other cultural places, the surrounding has plenty to offer between horseback ridding, diving, snorkeling, bike ridding, and much more.
In Trinidad I spent quality time with locals who welcomed me a one of their owns, something I will never forget!

Transportation: 15 CUC colectivo - 2h30 drive
Accommodation: casa particular Dos Gardenias where you will be welcomed like at home and fed great food! 10 CUC per night for a double/tripple room and conveniently located closeby to the "internet square". Anyways trinidad being small you easily walk accross town.
F&B: I mostly ate at my casa because it was cheap and good. However if you're looking for a cheap place to eat local food (and not be cheated by local prices) Don Chelo (Frank Pais #213. Between Lino Perez and Mercedes) is a great choice.
Activities: I recommend the horseback ride in the Valley of the Indigenios (30 CUC) riding through the beautiful cuban valley, farmers' houses, coffee producer, cane sugar factory, view points and waterfalls. Enjoying sometime at the beaches, visiting La boca at sunset, and snorkeling.
