Burma is a beautiful country. Not only are the landscape and monuments beautiful, but so are the people. Poor as they may be, they always hold a gorgeous, curious minds and sincere smile and are always happy, not to say excited, to meet foreigners. I guess one beauty of the country is that it hasn't been touched too much by tourist yet, remaining quite authentic to the tourist in terms of sightseeing and encounters.
The country is very rich in natural resources (petrol, agriculture, jade, rubi, gold, silver, stone carriers, bronze etc. yet remains very poor due to a lack of management by the government leading to poor educational system, poor health system, poor investment and involvement in villages and cities evolution. This is sad.
The local cuisine is not the best Asian cuisine I have tried, it is quite simple: the typical dish as a Myanmar curry (protein of your choice and different sauces such as bean sprout sauce, fish sauce, tomato and garlic sauces etc.), accompanied by several vegetable side dishes, soup and unlimited rice. A typical dessert would be the tea leaves salad (accompanied by fresh ginger and fried nuts) and local sweets (tamarind flakes or jaggery - our cane sugar sweet)
