Phang Nga Bay is a 400 km2 bay in the Strait of Malacca between the island of Phuket and the mainland of the Malay peninsula of southern Thailand. Limestone cliffs with caves, collapsed cave systems, and archeological sites are found about Phang Nga Bay. Around 10,000 years ago, when sea levels were lower, it was possible to walk from Phuket and Krabi.
And off we went for a day discovery of thbeautiful Phang Nga Bay! Our tour consisted of 2 canoe trips in 2 different caves and smaller bays, followed by the visit of the famous James Bond Island (crazy how a movie can turn a simple rock into such a famous place!) before swimming close to a monkey beach! The canoeing expeditions we truly incredible: the caves wear so tight and low that we had to completely lay down on the canoes in order to pass through out to a beautiful and peaceful closed bay with a lot of vegetation and mangrove trees. |
