7 months and half after landing in Cochabamba, almost 4 months fater starting our backpacking trip, and after so many months dreaming about it, I am finally reaching the Caribbean coast! Grabbing a cheap flight from Medellin to Santa Marta thanks to viva Colombia I discover the truth behind living on a Caribbean coast: the heat!! God it's heavy!
Landing in Santa Marta to reach a music festival nearby, I take the time to quickly visit the town for a couple of hours before heading to Costeño beach. I don't believe Santa Mart itself has much to offer in terms of touristic activities yet it is know as an active and lively city to live in!
Re-connecting with Melissa from college, along with a couple of her friends from Medellin, we head to Costeño Beach for the Estereo Beach festival by Bomba Estereo (a famous colombia music band). For me, passionante about these type of event production, it was an amazing experience lived in an atmosphere only filled with joy, music, and well-being.
The following day we head to spend the weekend by the beach in this small but adorable village, mostly made up from a long street full of hostels, restaurants, bars and social places. Palomino, the hippie place.

Transportation: Palomino is about 4 hours drive from Santa Marta
Accommodation: we stayed at a hostel on the main street in front of the bus stop, yet palomino has a variety of offers, some being closer to the beach
Activites: plenty of activites to do in Palomino and surroundings, depending on your tastes.
