Created in 1989, the ToroToro National Park located south east from Cochabamba (5hrs drive) in Potosi' department, has a size of 165,70 sqm. Its name, derived from Qechua "thuru thuru" means mud where the dinausors left their footprints in the humid ground (after the earthquakes make the mountains appeared and the sea disappear). The national park is a great get away for the week-end, giving you a great opportunity to connect with nature. ToroToro itself is a very little town, appearing to be half constructed and half destroyed at the same time, and is known for largely holding dinosaurs’ footprints of 65Million years.
Within the weekend we visited the traditional tour which includes three discoveries:
|
|
Transport: minivan – 35Bs, 5 hours or Local bus, 25Bs, between 6 and 8 hours
Accommodation: Hostal Vilmar, 30Bs per night for dormitories and hot water in the bathroom
Tours: a total of 169Bs (22€) for the entrance fees, all three tours including guide and chauffeur.
Food budget: a bit more expensive than other places because of it being remote and touristic. But overall reasonable: about 100Bs for the weekend (15€) if you're not a big eater.
Overall budget of the weekend: about 400Bs (60€)
